Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I waive the $10 donation fee? Absolutely! LeGal prides itself on being accessible to every student. If you feel uncomfortable paying the amount, please email us and we will waive it, no questions asked. You will not be expected to pay later.
2. Are there General Member Meetings? No, LeGal does not hold General Member Meetings. However, we provide one (1) social event and three (3) professional legal events per quarter (or more!) for students. All our virtual events are recorded and can be found on our YouTube, or here.
3. What benefits do I get as a member? To see how LeGal has helped our members in the past, read A Letter From Our Members. As a member, you benefits include:
-
Access to our private GroupMe, a hub of current students and alumni, and a place to connect, ask questions, and get updated with new LeGal events.
-
Updates from the LeGal Newsletter.
-
Eligibility to enter free merch giveaways, raffle benefits, and free prep course packages.
-
% off discounts on LSAT Prep courses.
-
Early access to RSVP to high-priority events, including our Annual Alumni Law Forum.
4. How long does it take to process my application? It takes about one week upon your submission for us to verify your fee waiver and/or Zelle donation. Then you will receive a Welcome email with the private GroupMe code.
5. Can men join and attend these events? Sigh I guess. Just kidding, of course! We get surprised every time this question is asked. Remember, our focus is to bridge gender gaps, not widen them.
6. Can I still join late into the quarter/year? Yes! The membership application does not close. However, the process may take longer into the school year as we check less and less.
7. What is my donation used for? Your donation is carefully and thoughtfully spent to book room venues, pay for facility fees, purchase items for socials, buy club supplies (e.g. name tags, tablecloths, signs), reimburse guest speakers for parking, and more.
